A Season Finale to Remember: Philadelphia Sinfonia joined forces with The Philly Pops for a Landmark Finale America 250 concert at the Kimmel Center
Philadelphia — Philadelphia Sinfonia concluded its season with a sold-out final concert at the Kimmel Center, presented in collaboration with The Philly Pops. The evening was a joyful celebration of music-making, community, and artistic collaboration, bringing together young musicians, professional artists, families, and Philadelphia audiences for a memorable season finale.

About
Linus Ip is a compelling conductor-leader-educator recognized for his innovative programming, cultural collaborations, and commitment to engaging diverse audiences in the concert hall. He currently serves as Music Director and Conductor of the Philadelphia Sinfonia.
This past summer, he was Cover Conductor and Assistant Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute at the John F. Kennedy Center, where he led rehearsals, educational activities, and the conducting apprentice program where he worked alongside top professionals, collaborating closely with musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera, as well as emerging young artists. In the past season, Linus also served as Assistant Conductor of the Orion Youth Symphony of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra as well as Conductor and curator of the Old Bay Ensemble for New Music. At the core of his artistic vision is the advocacy of underrepresented narratives, bringing a powerful and inclusive voice to the communities he serves.
Linus most important mentors include Marin Alsop and Gerard Schwarz, both of whom have played a significant role in shaping his artistic vision and leadership philosophy. Linus was a semifinalist in the 2024 Kussewitzky International Conducting Competition in Italy and was previously selected as a Conducting Fellow with Marin Alsop at the National Orchestral Institute. His has worked with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra (US), and the National Philharmonic, as well as assisting Marin Alsop with the Washington Choral Arts Society at the Kennedy Center. In summer 2024, he appeared as guest conductor with the Symphoniker Hamburg in Germany and was a Conducting Scholar at the Eastern Music Festival.

Philadelphia Sinfonia is a youth orchestra dedicated to developing young musicians through high-level orchestral training and performance opportunities.
